Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Help Lightning, the leading Augmented Reality provider of Virtual Interactive Presence, is hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. You will join the Product Engineering Team and report to the Engineering Manager. In this role, you’ll have responsibility for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud production and development systems. The ideal candidate will have experience deploying and managing enterprise solutions in AWS and developing tools to automate systems deployment and management tasks (DevOps).

Responsibilities

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer's responsibilities include designing, monitoring, and maintaining all cloud infrastructure services and tools to maintain optimal performance and high availability of services to meet or exceed customer expectations. We are committed to training a candidate who has the right skill set and attitude.

  • Work as a member of a global team managing 24x7 public cloud platforms
  • Develop automation code to deploy and maintain systems and applications that run and monitor services in public cloud
  • Drive and solve problems impacting mission critical systems and implement automation to prevent reoccurrence
  • Work closely with engineering teams to build and support the continuous integration and deployment
  • Execute changes on production systems whenever necessary
  • Work closely with other development and operations team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into automated solutions

Skills / Requirements

  • US. Citizens only
  • Technical degree or work experience equivalent
  • Experience in designing, building and managing Linux/Unix-based systems
  • Networking experience and knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and common Internet protocols such as SMTP, DNS, NTP, HTTP, and RTP
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as shell scripting, Python, Javascript, or Ruby
  • Troubleshooting skills that involves analysis of logs, traffic trace, configuration data, automation tools to resolve issues until end-to-end systems are functioning
  • Preferred experience with AWS
  • Experience with Docker and virtualized environments is desirable
  • Good verbal & written communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and organizations
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, startup culture
  • Highly responsible with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter, who is able to work and learn independently
